Remapping originally started for the racing circuit in 1980's and was called chip tuning. It was done by manually interfering with engine's control unit (ECU) and installing what is called a "Performance Chip" to improve performance on racing cars. It worked well for a period of time, but at the early stages of technology it was hard to achieve the results needed. Now remapping evolved and using highly advanced technology allows to change fueling, boost pressure, ignition timing, resetting torque limiters, air intake and other parameters.
Remapping can be referred in many different ways such as ECU Remapping, ECU Tuning, ECU Programming, Engine Tuning, Chip Tuning, Engine Remapping, Reflashing the ECU or Flash Programing. Whatever phrase is used, it refers to the car's ECU being reprogrammed to produce different engine performance levels. Manufacturer's often produce same engines with different performance settings, which allows them to sell automobiles in various markets with different regulations and spend money to develop & design new engines. This also allows for a single engine to be used by several different brands, tuned to suit their particular buyer's market at relevant costs.
Now for the first time, after years and years of development new technologies, this wealth of experience of tuning cars is available at the customers convenience from the comfort of their own home or work.
Our market leading Black Flash tuning module is fast, safe, reliable and most importantly it provides a risk free connection to the ECU that is able to communicate directly through the OBD support without any need for any kind of physical interference. This provides the highest possible safety standards by enabling the connection to be restored automatically with the ECU in case of accidental disconnection. Optidrive technology also uses diagnostic & ECU connectors that enable operation on any kind of automobile, commercial vehicle, heavy duty truck or motorbike.
The tuning programs used to optimise performance and economy of the engines are the most important breakthrough, that the automotive industry has experienced in decades and is the result of years of experience and thousands of man hours.
